ASTM A860 WPHY60 Pipe Fittings Carbon Steel Eccentric Reducer B16.9 Buttweld Fittings

You better choose ASTM A860 fittings when the following conditions are ALL (or mostly) present in your project:

• The connecting pipe is API 5L Grade X42 to X70 (High-Yield Pipe): If your pipeline is specified as API 5L X60, X65, or X70, you must use A860 fittings.

• Operating Pressure is > 1000 psi (High-Pressure Systems): Used extensively in long-distance transmission pipelines, gas compressor stations, and offshore high-pressure flowlines.

• Design Temperatures are Low (Sub-Zero): When the Minimum Design Metal Temperature (MDMT) is below -20°F (-29°C) down to -50°F (-46°C). (e.g., Arctic pipelines, cryogenic gas processing).

• Pipeline Diameter is Large: Typically used for NPS 4" up to 48" (DN100 to DN1200) where heavy wall thickness and high structural integrity are required.

• The Service is Sour / Wet H₂S (with special ordering): When the pipeline transports sour crude or natural gas containing Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) – provided you order it with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance and HIC (Hydrogen Induced Cracking) testing.
